Today, the Group brings together Electrogrup—an EPC contractor specializing in energy infrastructure, civil infrastructure, and specialized construction projects; Nova Power & Gas, one of the most important players in the Romanian energy market; Direct One, owner of one of the country’s most significant neutral long-distance fiber-optic networks; WEESEE; and Netcity, a successful public-private partnership built around Bucharest’s underground fiber-optic infrastructure. Diversification was never pursued solely for revenue growth, but for integration: companies that complement one another, where expertise in one field supports development in another.

 

In recent years, energy has become the field in which his vision is most clearly demonstrated. The transition to renewable sources and the growing pressure on energy systems have created a new kind of challenge: it is no longer enough to generate green energy; balancing, flexibility, and the ability to integrate new sources into the grid have become essential. Today, Nova Power & Gas is the market leader in energy storage, operating the largest installed battery storage capacity in Romania. The Florești BESS facility, commissioned in December 2025, doubled the country’s total energy storage capacity overnight.

 

The same logic is evident in integrated energy projects where generation, storage, and balancing are designed together—the difference between an investor pursuing isolated opportunities and an entrepreneur building systems. A clear example is the energy complex in Câmpia Turzii, which combines renewable generation, gas-fired generation, and energy storage on a single site. Its centerpiece, a 160 MW combined-cycle power plant, is scheduled to enter partial operation by the end of 2026. Internationally, his participation in discussions on energy security and infrastructure shows that his concerns extend beyond Romania’s borders.

 

Perhaps Teofil Mureșan’s most distinctive trait is the way he combines the mindset of an engineer with that of an entrepreneur.
